Latin America's carpooling and ridesharing app landscape has shown varied performance across the board in the first quarter of 2024, according to data from Sensor Tower. Here's a brief overview of how five key players fared.

Uber - Request a ride maintained a strong presence in the market, with downloads starting at 470K in the first week of January and peaking at nearly 500K by the end of February. Weekly active users followed an upward trend, beginning at 20.7M and reaching a high of 24M in early March.

inDrive. Save on city rides, another significant contender, saw its downloads fluctuate around the 400K mark, with a slight drop to 344K by the end of March. Active users initially stood at 9.6M, dipping to 8.9M in January, but rebounded to 10.2M in early March before settling at 9.6M.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides experienced a steady download pattern, hovering around 250K per week, with a slight decline to 234K by March's end. In terms of weekly active users, DiDi saw an increase from 6.7M to 7.8M in the third week of March, before a drop to 7M in the last week.

Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver, catering to drivers, showed a consistent download count in the 200K-290K range through the quarter. The number of active users remained relatively stable, starting at 2.7M and ending the quarter at around the same figure.

Yango — different from a taxi, while having lower download numbers compared to others, displayed remarkable growth, more than doubling from 62K to 160K downloads from the start to the end of the quarter. Active users mirrored this growth, starting at 145K and climbing to 318K.
